Welcome to POE Yoga of Far Hills. Please read this introduction as we will try to answer any questions you may have as your personal yoga practice begins. We are always available to answer any other questions that you may have by phone, email or in person.
Do i need a reservation?
For regularly scheduled classes you do not need a reservation, although it is recommended that you sign up online to expedite the check in process and be assured of a place in class.
Where do i park?
We have a parking lot on site with plenty of spaces.
When to arrive?
Give yourself about 25 minutes prior to the start of class to check in, meet one of our staff members and get yourself comfortable in the studio.
What to eat or drink before?
As before any workout keep it light. It is recommended to not eat extremely heavy approximately two hours prior to class. Drink lots of fluids.
What do i need to bring?
You will need to bring a yoga mat and towels. Also don't forget your water bottle, and feel free to fill it at our ultra-purified reverse osmosis fountain. Take advantage of our beautiful amenities. Bring your toiletry bag and bath towel to shower and freshen up after class if you wish.
Are items available for purchase?
Yes, and you can give back at the same time! We donate a percentage of proceeds to different charities. Please ask us for details. POE offers an eco-friendly, organic and chic store where you can purchase water bottles, fresh coconuts, bottled water, and all of the necessities for your personal yoga practice and lifestyle. From apparel to everything for your mind, body, and mat.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable workout clothes. You will sweat a lot. Fabrics that become very heavy when saturated are not recommended.
What Class or Classes should I start with?
Just come to class and start! We don't get hung up on labeling "beginner or expert" as yoga is a lifelong journey. Our experienced and knowledgeable teachers are able to accommodate all of the students in a class. They will assist you in finding the modifications to the poses that are always available, and best work for your personal practice.
What to expect from your 1st class?
Expect a wonderful experience. Our instructors are extremely knowledgeable and will guide you through the class. Everyone in class has a personal practice even though we are also practicing as a group. There is no judgement and everyone moves at their own pace. Listen to your body. There are modifications to all of the poses and you can always rest on your mat until you are ready to join in again.
Do I need to be extremely flexible to practice yoga?
No, this is a common misconception as yoga is not all about flexibility. This particular type of yoga builds strength on and off the mat. Many yogis that have been practicing for years still take modifications to the poses. It is about doing the pose with the correct posture that works best for your anatomy, which lengthens and awakens your body and muscles and makes you feel amazing. You will develop your core strength, improve cardiovascular condition, muscular and respiratory health.
Yoga Etiquette
Please turn off your cell phone. Please do not bring personal belongings into the yoga room, this takes up space and can cause clutter.
Can I lose weight & detox doing Hot Yoga?
Without question you can lose weight & detox. These are just some of the many amazing benefits of a yoga practice. Results will be determined by each individuals practice. Be sure to let us know of your goals, so that we an assist you in reaching them, and more!
